Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Refresher course

 In line with Physical First Aid qualifications, MHFA England now recommend that Mental Health First Aiders should complete a refresher course once every three years.

This half day refresher course allows an opportunity to revisit your understanding of mental health, practice your skills and discuss your experience of supporting people with the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan.

Who should attend?

This course is to empower Mental Health First Aiders to maintain their skills with regular refresher training.

The four hour refresher course will support Mental Health First Aiders by:

• Renewing their skills

• Updating their knowledge of mental health supports

• Giving them the chance to practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan

Enabling Mental Health First Aiders to refresh their skills, the same way physical first aiders do, is a great way to demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to treating mental health and physical health equally.

Investing in the course will give you the confidence that your Mental Health First Aiders are performing their role safely and effectively.

Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid

Learners that have completed the new Mental Health First Aid course, Adult MHFA Refresher (including support and benefits) or purchased access to the MHFAider® Support and Benefits are eligible to complete the RSPH Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid.

Format

• This is a half day course that can be delivered face to face or online

• Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities

• Places are limited, so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn

Cost

Mental Health First Aid England value this course at £150 +VAT. Be Well are able to offer you a place on this course at a subsidised cost of £125+VAT (plus £4 shipping cost for online courses)
